Steele PTA is proud to be offering these programs to our children regularly throughout the entire year. Programs like these can't happen without the support and effort of volunteers. For more information on volunteering visit our volunteer page.
Every Friday, during lunch, the children have the opportunity to purchase SNACKS for $1 each.
Your child will need to bring the money to school. This is not part of the pre-paid “School Bucks” program.
For the health and safety of your child, we must have parental consent for your child to purchase snacks. If your child has any dietary restrictions or allergies and you wish for them to opt-out of certain items, please indicate that on the form. They will not be permitted to purchase the items you have indicated on the form.
If you have any questions, please call Ginelle Baugh at 516-543-8396. Proceeds help support the many children’s programs that are provided by Steele PTA .
Youth gardening represents a tremendous opportunity for children to understand and explore the natural world, as well as learn first hand the benefits of growing, harvesting and eating healthy foods. Gardening captures kid’s interest, teaches them nurturing skills, gives them a sense of pride in their accomplishments and provides a way to improve and give back to the community. Members will learn how to create, grow and maintain an organic vegetable garden.
There are many activities planned for the garden. The Steele School Garden Club meets seasonally on WEDNESDAYS during recess September through November.
