Welcome to PARP 2019
February 4th - February 15th
This page has everything you need to
know about this year's PARP program.
What is PARP?
Pick A Reading Partner, or PARP, is a program that began in New York State over 30 years ago. The primary objective of PARP is to get parents involved in helping their children become life long readers. Just 20 minutes a day spent reading with your child can help build their vocabulary, improve comprehension and expand their imagination!!!!

For Additional Fun
Go to the Baldwin Public Library before February 12th and vote for character you would like Mrs. Hunn to dress up as.
We will once again be hosting the story writing contest. Your child can bring their story to school no later than February 11th. One author from each class will be selected to have their story read during the final PARP assembly on February 15th. We hope that you encourage your child to become an author, and we look forward to reading their totally inspired stories. (See complete story contest guidelines)
We hope that you will spend some time reading with your child and help them participate in the fun activities we have planned over the next two weeks!
